Kopimatcha Chapter 2 — MEETS
At first, Raga and Hana didn’t
really know each other.
They were simply part of the same
campus environment. They might have recognized each other’s faces, but they had
never actually talked, not even once.
Hana was actually the first one to
notice Raga.
It wasn’t anything serious. Raga was just one of those people she saw around campus quite often because of how active he was in organizations. And with the number of friends always surrounding him, it was pretty hard not to recognize him.
Hana simply noticed him.
She never went out of her way to
look for him.
As for Raga?
Forget noticing Hana. At the time,
he probably didn’t even really know who she was.
Until Dimas decided to get involved.
Dimas had always had a habit of
teasing people. And for some reason, Hana became one of his favorite targets.
Whenever he saw Hana walking by, he
might suddenly call out,
“Han!”
Hana turned around.
“What?”
Dimas simply smiled.
“Nothing.”
Hana frowned.
“What is it?”
Dimas laughed.
Raga, who happened to be nearby,
didn’t pay much attention at first. But after it happened a few times, he
eventually started getting curious.
“Dim, you know Hana?”
Dimas turned to him.
“Of course.”
“Who’s she?”
Dimas immediately gave him a
mischievous look.
“Wait, you’re only finding out now?”
Raga frowned.
“What’s the big deal?”
“Nothing. I thought you already knew
her.”
Raga didn’t answer.
He simply glanced toward Hana, who
was already walking away.
So that was Hana.
For the first time, Raga actually
made an effort to remember the name.
Not because anything significant had
happened.
Simply because Dimas mentioned it
way too often.
And the more Dimas teased Hana, the
more Raga realized that, apparently, they had actually been in the same places
quite a few times.
Still, there was no real reason for
them to introduce themselves.
Until a campus event brought them
together under slightly different circumstances.
That day, Raga was part of the
medical team.
His job was simple. Stay on standby
throughout the event and help anyone who needed medical attention.
The event was pretty crowded.
Raga was busy doing his job while
the other students enjoyed themselves.
And somewhere in the middle of all
that chaos, Hana was there too.
This time, Raga didn’t just catch a
glimpse of her.
He knew exactly who he was looking
at.
Hana.
Maybe for Hana, the moment didn’t
mean much.
The same probably went for Raga.
They didn’t suddenly become close.
There was no long conversation.
No dramatic moment.
Nothing that suddenly made either of
them fall for the other.
It was just that, from that day on,
Raga became a little more aware that there was someone named Hana Keira Anindya
around him.
And Hana had actually noticed Raga
long before that.
Funny enough, they both knew of each
other, but still didn’t really know each other.
Like two people who had been in the
same room several times but had never had a reason to sit at the same table.
For now, that was enough.
Raga had his own things going on.
Hana had hers.
They were still walking along their
own separate paths.
Only, without either of them
realizing it, one name was slowly starting to catch someone’s attention.
Hana.
And one name had been noticed long
before that.
Raga.
